I am seeking the parents or siblings of Charles TOWNSEND born 1824 in South Carolina and died 1886 in Jefferson County, Florida.

My most likely candidate for his father is Samuel TOWNSEND born 1794 in Marlboro County, South Carolina and son of Rhoda TOWNSEND born 1762 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. Rhoda TOWNSEND was the daughter of Light TOWNSEND (1735-abt 1817)also of Marlboro County, South Carolina.

Samuel, wife Edia and duaghter Amanda show up in 1850 Madison County, (adjacent to Jefferson County) Florida. So he may have moved there with his family after Amanda's birth date of 1832. In Samuel's family appears to be Charles' oldest son Charles Jr.

Charles TOWNSEND married Nov. 5, 1845 to Annie A. SUMMERLIN born 1829 in Georgia and died 1904 in Jefferson County, Florida. He appears to have moved to Florida before his first son Charles Jr was born in abt 1847.
