Kelly Jane,
More a curosity than need, if Rufus died in 1862, how did he get to Rose Hill? This cemetery began in the late 1880s or early 1890s, best I can recall from visits there. Next visit I will look for Rufus. He was in upper Greenville County in 1860, two years before death.
You may be interested to know in 1860 there are two Joseph Bartons of different ages, perhaps father and son, both married to Lettys of different ages. May be a census mistake regarding the same names for the wives.
Mildred and James William Brown are buried with his father and mother at Graceland, and the plot has other Brown relatives.
Nice to be able to speculate that Mildred met her husband when they both lived in Piedmont.
