Reuben McKenzie was born in VA abt. 1770 and probably came to the Greenville Co. area with his parents. First record of him in Greenville Co. is 1788. I am trying to identify which of the McKenzie families that moved from VA into SC about 1785-88 were his parents.

Reuben married Susan ____ in SC about 1793. The first land record I find is survey taken in 1802. He was on the Pickens Census of 1800, and then on the later Greenville Co. Census. He and Susan had four children, all born and married in Greenville Co.:

Mary, b 1795, married Samuel Wragg, Greenville, abt 1815

Benjamin, b 1799, married Zelia McCoy, daughter of David
and Susan McCoy of Greenville Co.

Sarah Ann, b 1801, married Peter Rice McClanahan, son of John and Mary Robinson McClanahan of Greenville Co.

Malinda, b 1805, married James McKinney, son of Maj. James McKinney and Mary Boon of Pickens Co.
