RE: John DACUS (in Geenville Census 1800 and on)and his extended family.

I'd like to correspond with any researchers of this surname.
I'm interested in putting together a complete listing of DACUS family members between 1720 and the end of the Civil War and am looking for reliable names and dates.

This may help, there is an old Dacus family cemetery, on Dacus Rd., in Greenville County, S.C., I will take a look, for names and dates, the next time I go over that way.

I TOOK A LOOK IN THE OLD DACUS FANILY CEMETERY, AND HERE WAS NINE OR TEN GRAVES, ALL ARE MARKED WITH NATIVE STONES, NO NAMES, BUT THERE IS A LARGE STONE MARKER IN FRONT OF IT, THE MARKER SAID, DACUS FAMILY CEMETERY.

Ok, I came across some info. of who are buried at Dacus Cemetery, WILLIAM Dacus {born:Sept. 28, 1754, Va.} and { died: April 16, 1839, Greenville Co., S.C.}, he was a son of, JOHN Dacus ad MARY ADKINS. And William's wife, NANCY RUTLEDGE {born: May 26, 1768, Va.} and died: July 29, 1832, Grenvile Co., S.C.}, she was a daughter of JOSEPH RUTLEDGE and MARY PASCHAL. WILLIAM DACUS's daughter, MARY ADKINS Dacus { born: Sept. 5, 1791, Va.{ and died: Nov. 10, 1857, at CURETON HALL in Greenville Co., S.C.,she was buried at the CURETON FAMILY CEMETERY. MARY A. DACUS married JOHN MOON CURETON, a son of JOHN CURETON Jr. and SARA MOON. MARY ADKIN DACUS's DAUGHTER was SARAH MOON CURETON{born: July 4, 1871 in Greenville Co., S.C.} and {died: Dec. 17, 1882, in Laurens Co., at the Sullivan Home Place, she was buried at the LEBANON CHURCH CEMETERY. She married THOMAS JEFFERSON Sullivan { BORN: Sept. 28, 1807 in Greenville Co., S.C. and {died Jan. 13, 1866 in Laurens C., S.C., in the LEBANON CHURCH CEMETERY. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.
