OBITUARY--Siau. Died at the residence of Mr. J. W. Tarbox in this town, on Monday night about quarter past 9 o'clock, Mrs. Eliza
Addison Siau, in the 80th year of age.
Mrs. Siau, we believe, was the oldest lady inhabitant of our town, until within a short time of her death, she was able to attend worship, and could be seen wending her way to the house of God, where it was her delight to hold communion with her
Maker, whose humble and devoted servant she has been for so many weary years. Aunt Eliza's life was an example of Christian piety, fortitude and resignation, and her end that peace that passeth all understanding. Among her last words was the desire "To depart and be at rest with her Saviour."
She was, we believe, without a relative here, but in the home of Mr. John W. Tarbox. She has long since found a place of safety and rest from the turmoils of life.
Aunt Eliza was regarded as a mother in Israel and her place will be missed both in the centre of that family and the M. E. Church of which she was a constant member for over 62 years.
Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.T.C--rs in the presence of a large concourse of friends, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, at the Methodist Episcopal Church, and her remains deposited in the Church yard.
