I am searching for information on Silas Smith of Edgefield County, South Carolina, an African American.
This is what I know for sure:
1930 Census: Edgefield Co., Edgefield Town, Pickens Township
Smith, Silas, Head, B, age 38 (b. Mar 20, 1892, d. Jan 24, 1950)-- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Rosa, Wife, B age 33 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Silas, Jr., Son, B, age 18 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Mary E., Daughter, B, age 15 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Henry L., (m. Lillian Herndon) Son, B, age 11 -- SC / SC / SC
1920 Census: Edgefield Co., Edgefield Town, Pickens Township
Smith, Silas, Head, B, age 27 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Rosa, Wife, B age 23 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Silas, Jr., Son, B, age 8 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Mary E., Daughter, B, age 5 -- SC / SC / SC
Smith, Henry L., Son, B, age 11 months -- SC / SC / SC
I cannot find Silas on the 1910 or 1900 census.
They attended church at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Edgefield and supposedly the entire family is buried in there.
I'm hoping someone has done research on the family or lives in the Edgefield Co. and can tell me something about this Smith family!
Thanks!
Terri
