I just received Maggie Bryant Sandifer's death certificate. The information was supplied by J D Sandifer of Bamberg, SC.
It does not list her birthday, just her age of 42, so she was born about 1884, she died 28 OCT 1926 @ 5:30PM of colitis. She was listed as being born in Darlington Co., SC as well as her parents. Her father was listed as Bryant (no first name, just my luck) and her mother's maiden name as Mary Rhoad. She was buried in South End Cemetery, Bamberg, SC on the 29 OCT 1926 and the undertaker was listed as J. Coouer & Son (John Coouer was the local registrar that filled out the death certificate).

For years I have been looking for a Samuel Bryant as the father as claimed in Henry Bryant's obit.

Does anyone have any more info about Duffie Ellis Bryant and his children Dora, Maggie, Henry & Edward? per the 1910 Census one of these children already was deceased...either Dora or Edward.

I cannot find anybody in the 1900 Census, these children had to of been somewhere.


Charles "Henry" Bryant was born September 22, 1887 in Darlington County, SC per his draft card. In 1917 He was living in Bamberg Co., SC with his wife & child.
