I hear you! I've found
RENTZ research in general to be frustrating at times - and at other tiimes extremely rewarding!
My paternal line actually descends from 2
RENTZ lines (Ebenezer,
GA Salzburger line, and
Colleton Co., SC line). With the help of fellow on-line researchers Rev. Pike Thomas and Billy
RENTZ, my family was fortunate to discover the identity and SC burial place of my father's grandmother Mary
RENTZ, and also her parents Jacob and Rebecca
RENTZ. Also discovered the correct middle name of my great grandfather William Solomon
RENTZ, thanks to my on-line research buddy Charlotte
POLK McLeod and her excellent census skills. (Our family had always thought his middle name was
Sullivan!) Have been able to take the George
RENTZ (who married Catherine
Majer) line all the way back to 1500's Germany through the help of Carolyn
RENTZ, who actually visited Germany and found the original church records. (Carolyn's research actually throws new light on some of the excellent
RENTZ research conducted by Mr. HIER's in the 1970's.) Such wonderful discoveries with the continuing help of like-minded friends certainly make it all worthwhile!
