WALKER - Isham Walker, 1777-1848 & Other Walkers

Just wondering if anyone has made any progress on the family of Isham Walker and Martha Walker? I'm dubious about the information in the "Cemeteries of Upper Colleton County, SC" but am trying to keep an open mind.

In the Isham Walker Family Cemetery in Colleton County, SC, are buried three children named in the David Walker-Rebecca Raysor family Bible and presumed to be their children:

1. Isham Walker, April 11, 1831- Dec. 14, 1833
2. David Edwin Walker, September 4, 1835 - Nov. 30, 1848
3. Laura Walker, Nov. 3, 1840 - May 2, 1842

Also buried there is Isham N. Walker, b. Dec. 3, 1813, d. June 4, 1848. He is believed to be the first husband of Jane Caroline Stokes who married, second, her sister's widower, George Raysor (another sister, Hannah Stokes, married Thomas Raysor, Sr).

The elder Walkers, who are buried here:

Isham Walker, b. Feb. 5, 1777, d. Oct. 9, 1848
Wife: Martha Walker, b. April 29, 1779, d. Mar. 8, 1838

It seems likely that David Walker who married Rebecca Raysor, and Isham N. Walker who married Jane Stokes, were the sons of Isham and Martha Walker. David and Rebecca Walker migrated to Jefferson Co, Florida, in the mid-1850's.

"Cemeteries of Upper Colleton County, South Carolina" has Isham David Walker, b. 1812, Dr. J. B. Walker, b. 1814, and Rev. George W. Walker, b.1818, as the sons of this couple. This may confuse the families of Isham Walker, b. 1769, with Isham Walker born 1777.

Does anyone have a connection with Daniel Walker, early Colleton County surveyor?

Does anyone know of a connection between Mary Ann Walker, b. abt. 1819 in Colleton Co, m. John M. Raysor; James S. Walker, b. abt. 1811, m. Elizabeth C.; other Walkers who migrated from Colleton County SC to Jefferson County FL in the 1840's?

Appearing in the 1850 census of Jefferson County, Florida, are: Jesse Walker, 50; Little Berry Walker, 38; David Walker, 31; Joel Walker, 27. Also, a Narcissa Caroline Walker, 25, who was married to Isaac N. Lamb,

Are these families all related to Joel Walker, Sr., married to Elizabeth Carter, and son of Isham Walker who was b. 1769?

Pat,
Because I am a descendent of Mary Walker and Christian Rizer I have a little information. A survey of the Walker cemetery I obtained from the Caroliniana Library (I think) shows the birthdate of Dr. J. B. Walker as Aug. 1, 1814 and the death date as Oct. 31, 1848. Other graves in this cemetery are of Isham Walker (1777-1848), Martha Walker (1779-1838), Isham N. Walker (1813-1849), Isham Walker (1831-1833), David Edwin Walker (1835-1848) and Isham David Walker who died March 1, 1907 at age 52. My information states that this cemetery is in dense woods off highway 64 and that only one stone was left in this cemetery. I found additional information about David Walker, George Walker and Isham Walker in the Biographical Directory of the S. C. Senate 1776-1985, Vol III, pp. 1653-1657. I am interested in other information which may pertain to my ancestor, Mary Walker Rizer
