"Ben Thurman Gibson, 94, of North Charleston, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, in a North Charleston hospital."

Born in Chesterfield, son of Doc Gibson and Lizzie Davis Gibson. Retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a Mason for 70 years in the Ruby Masonic Lodge.

Survived by 4 daughters, 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service held at Carolina Memorial Gardens; Carolina Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
