Hi Don,
Just found your message. As far as I know Henry Turner and Eliza J. Ivester had 3 children: cornelius, Dorsey, and Mandy. I wonder if the Mandy I have is your Maude.
Would love to swap Ivester information with you. My e-mail is enc6@aol.com.
Thanks and take care - Emma

Emma,
Thanks so much for your response. Yes, I am certain that Mandy is my Maude. Talking to my mother, who just turned 87 in May, she said her mother Maude was called Maudee and I feel the Census entry was listed as Mandy. It appears to me to be Maudy. Maude Jeanette Turner Morrow Singleton was my grandmother. I have very little info on my mother's side of the family. I would very much appreciate any info on my great-grandmother Ivester and her family/siblings.

I will share all the info that I have.

Thanks again, and I will be anxiously awaiting any info that you might have. I will tell my mother about our conversation.

Don Fortner
Great-grandson of Henry and Eliza J. Ivester Turner

Hi, I just read your message regarding Henry Turner and Eliza... I am wondering if you have information on Eliza Ivester? This is part of my line. I believe her sister is Amelia and that is my great, great, grandmother. I have also been talking to Don. My email address is friendshadow@yahoo.com. Thanks, Lori

Lori,
Eliza J. Ivester who married Henry Turner and Amelia Ivester who married Jesse P. Turner were sisters. Both were daughters of John Ivester and his wife Barbara F.

John Ivester was the son of Jacob Ivester and Margaret Cline.

Jacob Ivester was the son of Hugh Ivester and Barbara.

Hugh Ivester came to America in 1775 from the Orkney Islands.

Have quite a bit on these folks if you are interested.
Take care - Emma

Do you have parents of Jesse Turner???
Have checked transcribed census of Cleveland County and can find him only on the 1880.
Thanks
Sandra
