I live in a home in
Summerville that is said to have been named Preference, being the summer cottage of a family from a plantation of the same name. There is very little documentation on this home, as is true of so many of the
Summerville homes. Is the old plantation in St. Matthews? That was the only place that I could find any reference to a plantation called Preference.
