Hello, Terry.

Saw your message on the Anderson Co. query board. I am also interested in the name of Fowler. My Fowler is Ebenezer born abt. 1810-20 in SC. Married Mary Norris (I believe, they named one of their sons J. W. Norris Fowler).
After the CW, they moved to the Whitfield Co., Ga. area. J. W., I believe served in the war. He daughter Cindrilla Amanda married a Lewis Jefferson Parks in Whitfield. I can find him in the census reports, but no where else. Do we make a connection? Will go through my Green notes in my filing cabinet to see what I have. If I don't, I will keep your message for later.

Ruth,

Sorry, I can not help you. None of this sounds familier to me. S. C. is such a hard place to find what you want. In Anderson Co., there are quite a few Fowlers. Don't give up, down the road, we may be connected. Never know.

Chris

Just read your messages regarding 1800's Fowlers in Anderson County (Pendleton District). I am looking for my great grandmother who may be either Mary or Edna Fowler. Her child John James was the son of a Moore (name unknown). His name was changed from Fowler to Moore after adoption by the Moore family. The family lived somewhere near the Flatrock Church section of the county. John James was born 1851 or 1852. Married Martha Haynie in 1871. Even though we know he was born in Anderson County, he does not appear on either the 1860 or 1870 census--but was back in 1871 to marry Martha. Any information will be appreciated.
