When was it set up and who ran it first. The property was probably purchased from the
Armington
or Kent familys.

I don't know who had the first eatery on that site, but my grandfather, Arthur W. Case, had a little business there called "The Clam Shell" (I have a photo) which sold chowder & clamcakes. No one knows the exact date, but I'm estimating somewhere in the 1920-1920's. Would love to know more if you have any info.

started it right after WWII, his son still lives here and I will contact him. Before that there was a place called Chic's, but it did not survive long according to the city directory.

Thanks to both of the respondents, I did find the owner who started it and ran it for all the years it was open. I would like to find an early picture of it though, the owner lost his in a fire.

bought and ran the diner after WWII. It was sold in 2006 now it stands as an abandoned parking lot fenced up growing weeds. We miss it a lot.
