Hi,
I am researching the Schora family which immigrated to Pawtucket, Rhode Island mid to late 1800's.
I do not know of any free to view sites on the web where I can do any look-ups for Births, marriages or deaths or for that matter any form of information.
All the sites I have calling themselves free are commercialised.
I am living in Stockport Cheshire, England where most of the Schora's come from and have extensive ammounts of information regarding the Schora's left behind in Ashton Under Lyne and Stalybridge, Denton when they immigrated.
Are you able to steer me in the right direction to any Web sites that you know ?
Most appreciated. If I can be of any help to you just ask.
Pete

Hi,
Thanks anyway.
I was really hoping for one in Pawtucket as nearly all start off with free and soon get to pay. Hoping to get a niche as my ancestors nearly all went to Rhode Island.
Ancestry is expensive enough without having to resort to paying for others.
There are plenty of BMD Counties in Britain e.g.
http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk
as well as using the familysearch.org using the LDS

Happy hunting, genealogy is addictive

Hi,
I have the mid version of Ancestry.co.uk costs about £120 a year but it is not the worldwide membership.
Yes I have tried the rootsweb so must try again.
I was very surprised at the ammount of web sites there are for Rhode Island and Providence. Its all there just have to pay.

If you want any UK censuses etc looked up I will do them for you and send you a copy.
Pete
