My husband was placed in a children's home in Providence RI for parts of 1948 and 1949. It was in the Mt. Pleasant area of Providence and within walking distance of Mt. Pleasant HS. His memory tells him it was made up of a series of group home. It had accommodations for both males and females. At the time he was there it was called the Patrick I. O'Rourke Childrens Home. It was operated by the State of Rhode Island.
