Records for Coventry at that time are at the Coventry Town Hall. However, it was not mandatory by law for people to officially record births, marriages, and deaths until the mid-1950s, so many individuals are missing from the town records before that time. Old records of all the cities and towns have been published as the series "Vital Record of RI" by James N. Arnold, available in many libraries and also online with membership at New England Historic Genealogical Society.
