Maria Pompei arrived in New York on May 16, 1913 on the SS Canada, with the intention of joining 'her husband, Erasme Andreozzi' in Barrington, so it would appear that they were already married in Italy.

Hi,

I'm looking for more information on my great grandfather Angelo Erasimo Andreozzi and his parents. He was born in 1889 and died in 1953 but I do not know the exact dates. He was born in Falvaterra, Italy and came to America in March of 1909 and settled in Barrington, RI. He was married to my great grandmother Maria Felicia Pompei (b. 1892, d. 1954) who was also born in Falvaterra, but I believe that the marriage was before the move to the US and don't know the date. Together they had 12 children: Maria, Alexandro, Ida, Francesca, Victoria, Antonio, Domenic, Angelo, Sorzio, Philip, Rocco, Mario. Their son, Sorzio, is my grandfather (b. 20 September 1925, d. May 1985) in Barrington, RI. He was married to Doris Burns (b. 4 March 1930, d. 3 February 1990) but I do not know where or when. Both Sorzio and Doris died in Warren, RI where they had 3 sons: Sorzio, Steve, Scott. Scott is my father.

Any information regarding the ancestry of any of these people would be helpful and appreciated.

My cousin Ursula unfortunately does not know Paul's and Lenny's location. But she did say that her and her father Gonzalo met with Louise and Paul in New York in 1974. louise had a husband named george he was some kind of writer for the newspapper.she also owned a house on martha's vinyard island.walter for some years lived with aunt etta. does that name mean anything to you.

my father's name was Divico Gonzenbach,there were 5 boys from my grandfather Paul and my grandmother. we were all born in Ecuador. my father and 3 of his brothers have past away, my uncle Pablo (paul)is the only one that's still alive. My name is Erika Gonzenbach and I live in Long Island New York.. I also found that info(about pgs 123 thru 127 from Salem His Soc.) hand written in ink on one of those pages in HR Guilds 1892 book at the R.I.Hist. Soc. library.

There also is The Humphreys Family of America by Fred Humphreys 1883 Pt I and Pt II (about Jonus of Dorchester plus the James of Barrington who went to Vt. )

The source of your pages is "The Salem Press Historical and Genealogical Record, Volume 2 (January 1892)". The article was written by H. R. Guild.

You can find it and your pages on Google Books as a free read.

Smith family

There supposedly was a Smith family plot in a Forest Hill cemetery in Barrington RI. I think it was moved to a Prince's Hill Cemetery. I am looking for a Henry Smith 2-26-1882 69 yrs, Martha his wife 11-2-1890, Asa Smith 1860, Phebe Arnold his wife 1855 67yrs. Nathaniel and Lillis are there, but the others are not. Does anyone know where to go from here?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know anything about the Capone family that lived in Bristol R.I. My GGF was Domenico Capone (born 1872 and died April 1914). Any information at all will be welcome. I am trying to find out specifically who is brothers/cousins were and also he had a son, Antonio who was born in 1912 and may have died around 1917-1919.
Also does anyone know of any illness that struck the town in 1911? Two of his daughters died in 1911 (ages 18 & 16)

Paul von Gonzenbach was my grandfather. Many year after his first wife Louise passed away, he married my grandmother Esther Amelia Iglesias in Ecuador, they had 5 children together, Hugo, Gonzalo, Divico, Virgilio and Pablo. My grandfather passed away in Guayaquil Ecuador on November 28, 1958

Obit help for Angelo Russo (1862-1929)

Hi,

I've been trying to locate an obit for my great-grandfather, Angelo Russo, but haven't had much luck yet.

I've found records from Ellis Island, federal and state census records, and even have a hard copy of his naturalization papers, but am trying to find an obit so I confirm the names of his parents and siblings.

Angelo Russo was married to Fortunata Arrigo (1861-1929) and they arrived in the States from Falcone, Sicily. They had a least five children, Giuseppe, Francesco, Anunziata [married name: Mascena], Maria [married name: Mascena] and Santa [married name: Donato] who started families of their own in Bristol.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for this (and a couple other) older obits?

Looking for information on my grandfather, Antone (D')Almeida. He is from Agua_DePau Sao Miquel Azores(sorry about spelling, this is what I was given).
His father was Joseph Almeida and mother, Mary Borges. His first wife was Rosa Barboz(s)a or Branca. They had 7 children: Maria Jesus, Julia, Mary, Manuel, Joseph(J), Antonio(Tony), and Ameilia(Emily).

When his first wife, Rosa, he re-married with Mary Mederio(a) and gave birth to 18 children. He lived on the corner of Mt Hope Avenue and 3rd School Street.

I saw your post and was interested in the "aka Manuel Rosa". My husbands grandmother was Lydia Cardoso/Cardoza. One piece of paper we found said her father was Manuel Rosa or Rose. She was from Portugal or Azores, we have no information there, born about 1893-1897. She lived in New Bedford, MA but seems as there were family in RI. Could there be any connection?

Peck family graves found in Michigan

I recently found two graves in an early cemetery in Michigan that refer to Bristol, RI as place of birth:

Nathaniel Peck b.Mar, 1767, d.Sep. 20, 1836
Thomas Peck b.1792, d.Sep. 13, 1836 (Son of Nathaniel & Mary Peck). They are buried in Neriah Cemetery* in Monroe County MI, Ida Township.
* was named Blouch Cemetery in the 19th century.

Ernest was my father's great uncle. I have considerable information about the Rochfords going back to Ireland. I'm trying to fine-tune the details. My father, Alan, now lives in Alabama, with his second wife, and my uncle Malcolm still lives in RI, as do my three cousins. My grandfather, Arthur, died when I was just a few months old, but Arthur was the son of Walter, Ernest's older brother. I hope you can connect to my tree, its public. We've spelled our name Rochford but it has also been Rochfort back in Ireland. Welcome family!

Found the paper that I was looking for. Captain Abner Mosher of Bristol, RI did command on a slaving voyage, the Commerce out of Bristol in 1797. This particular voyage was for Sam Wardwell and Shearjashub Bourn.
