Donna M. Martin, 64, of Maple Street, West West Terrace, passed away suddenly Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Ashland, Feb. 17, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Bowers Yoder.
She was the wife of James B. Martin.
She was of the Lutheran faith and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Buck Run.
A 1965 graduate of Minersville Area High School, graduating with honors and as a member of the National Honor Society, she was a 1968 graduate of Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing and passed her nursing boards with international scores.
Donna worked at the former Good Samaritan Hospital for seven years and then worked at the former Pottsville Hospital & Warne Clinic for six years. She worked at Tremont Nursing Home from 1989 to 1995. She had been disabled since 1996.
Donna enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid Phillies fan. She also enjoyed going to Notre Dame football games.
She loved her family and was much loved by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene; and a brother, William Yoder.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, James, West West Terrace; two sons, Craig Mizzer, Minersville, and Randall Mizzer, husband of Susan, Orlando, Fla.; a grandson, Robert Mizzer; and a granddaughter, Ashley Mizzer.
Religious services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with Pastor Paul Schaediger officiating. Friends may attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also from 6:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, has been entrusted with arrangements.
