From Hazleton PA Plain Speaker, Sat. July 30, 1938

Mrs. Catherine Romig, aged 84 years, was found death in bed this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Wetzel, West Main street, Weatherly, from the effects of a stroke. She was born in Packer township and her maiden name was Miss Catherine Keiper. Mrs. Romig was the widow of Abraham Romig, of Weatherly, who died nine years ago. She was a member of Salem Evangelical Reformed church. Surviving her are the following children: Mrs. Priscilla Wetzel, Mrs. Louis Kropp, Valentine Romig, all of Weatherly; and Mrs. Susan Rogers, of Bethlehem. Richard Keiper and Jonas Keiper, both of Weatherly, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm with services in the Wetzel home in charge of Rev. C.T. Moyer, pastor of Salem Evangelical Reformed church. Interment will follow in Union cemetery.
