Hi Sheri

Happy to help. And yes I do think we are related, but it is very distant. If my data is correct, it goes back through the Kellogg family to James Newton and Mary Hubbell in 1600's New England (CT).

I'll do some more work on George L. and his brother and sisters - might be something there too. It seems the old families in and around Lemon Twp. cross more than we might like to admit.

If you have any other questions ask away.

Kurt Moser
kdmoser (insert at sign) earthlink.net

I'll have to take a closer look. I have Louisa Rosengrant's husband as Albert Smith - son of George and Alvira (Elvira) but not much more.

I also show an Albin Smith married to Alice. He was the son of Lorenzo and Elizabeth. Lorenzo was from New Hampshire. Albin, Alice, Lorenzo and Elizabeth are buried at Vaughn Cemetery in Mehoopany, Wyoming County, PA

Both Albert an Albin were born about the same time (abt 1854)

The Smith families around Wyoming County are a bear to straighten out.

Kurt - Tunkhannock, PA

In any query you post, especially when researching such common surnames as Smith, Ross, Jones,...you really need to add some kind of dates or time frames.

so please add more info. Do you know who Ziba and Miles were married to? Do you have census info???

Hello, Are you the grandson of Ward Sr. and Jennie Blizzard Vanderhoff? If so, I am a descendant of the Storms family. I am trying to complete the family data for Ward and Jennie Vanderhoff. I have Ward Sr. 1922-1997. Is Jennifer still living? I have her was born 1924. If you have any information on the siblings I would greatly appreciate any help. Ward Jr. born 1947, married Elizabeth Marie Davison (1950); Howard Douglas born 1951; James David born 1956; and
Peggy A. born 1959, married Ronald Joseph Hanaver (1957). The dates I actually have are more precise but I do not want to publish as the living like their privacy. Thanks for the time you have put into genealogy. If there is anything I can help you with let me know.

Wm. Finley was the son of Moses Wills and Mary Nyce and was born in Coolbaugh 1821; died in Chicago 1896. From the Coolbaugh Family History by Hoagland, he and 1st wife Jane had 4 children: Mary Ellen, Jane Eliza, Minnie & James. From 1850, 1860 & 1870 census info, I found William b.abt 1849 and dead bfr 1860; Mildred, b. abt 1847 but not on the 1870 census. Does anyone know: was Mildred aka Minnie? What about Wm? His wife Jane died bfr 1870 and new wife Adelaide appears on the 1870 census with 2 new children. Haven't found them in 1880 census yet. Any help? Thank you.

Hi, I realize that this will not answer your inquiry regarding the St. Anthony's church records; however, I am in possession of an old family scrapbook full of obituaries and one of them is Michael Kinsley who died 26 April, 1916 and indicates he was 86 years of age. I thought perhaps you would like to have a copy for your records if you do not already have one. If you are interested, I could scan a copy and send it to you. You can contact me directly at barbwalt@epix.net and I will gladly send you a copy.

Fantastic! Your original owner of scrap book must have been someone like my dad who has a mailing envelope full of news clips, obits & funeral cards going back at least 25 yrs. Must be close to 100 of these things, mostly Johnson City &Binghamton NY
Thanks so much. My contact mail is momla1956@yahoo.com
Do you have these obits sorted in any way so that if someone were to ask if a certain obit was avail, you can find it w/no trouble?
The following are the people that might have connections to my John Kinsley:
Michael Kinsley, 1830-1916
Michael Kinsley 1810 - 1863
Michael Kingsley 1833-1907 (Punxatawney PA)
John Kinsley 1837-1919 (CA)
John Kinsley 1839 -?
Patrick Kinsley 1835-1873

The reason I asked is that every public record I have on John Kinsley has a discrepancy of some kind that confuses the search
Thanks again, Sue

I would also keep in mind when searching that Wyoming County was derived from Luzerne County in 1842, so look for this family in Luzerne County, PA as well.

Do you have a more exact death date? If so, advise to order death certificate, which should state parents' names.

If not, can possibly ask for more intense search at vital statistics for more money if you have county, year, and name? I would call vital statistics and ask what minimal information they would require for detailed search of death cert.

Hi Burt,
Wells Garrison and Phebe Sickler were my Grt Grt Grandparents. Their daughter Minnie, married Livingston Gates. Livingston and Minnie had a farm in Chase, Jackson Twp, here in Luzerne County.
Livingston and Minnie had two son's, Arthur(my grandfather); Harry who was married to Beatrice, who's maiden name I don't know and also a daughter Cora. I believe Cora had married a Cecil Corby. They had a farm in Courtdale, Luzerne County on Corby Road.

My grandfather Arthur and his brother Harry operated a dairy from the family homestead on Gates Road in Jackson Twp
and delivered milk in the Wyoming Valley.

From information I received, Wells Garrison served in the Union Army, 53rd.
Tom Reed aka Oscar Furman moved to Missouri after the Civil War and lived out his life as Thomas Reed until death in 1926. His birth family was James Furman and Amanda unknown of Noxen, PA, around 1840-1870. He is buried in Clinton, Missouri; his uncle was John Furman, a doctor.
