My wife's 2nd great grandparents are Silas E. Olds and his wife, Maud M. White. We haven't known a lot about Silas Olds, because after having a child with Maud (Harriet Elnora Olds--my wife's great grandmother), the marriage didn't last and the couple was divorced between 1890 and 1898.

I believe that the father of Silas E. Olds was William H. Olds (b. 1833), but I do not know who the mother of Silas E. Olds was. I found an old posting on the internet that Mahala F. Carey (b. 1837) married William H. Olds. Do you know if this is true?

I believe that Mahala F. Carey may be a daughter of William Carey (b. abt. 1808), as she appears on the 1850 Springfield, Bradford County Census. Do you know who Mahala's mother was?

My wife's family lived at various times in Elkland, Muncy, Shunk and other places in that area. Surnames include May, Hoagland, Battin, White, Carpenter, Vargason--and most were Quakers.

Best wishes on your research. I am happy to share anything that may be of nterest to you.
