I have a Cox family I am following who seem to be related to the McIntyres. The Mcintyres ran a boarding house at Stewartsville Pa called McIntyre House. Stewartsville I believe is exactly 1/2 way between Ft Pitt and Greensburg.

Thanks for the response. Does your Cox line get anywhere near the early 1900s? My mother is 92 and is the last of her line and at that age, details are sketchy. Stewartsville doesn't appear to be that far from Arnold, but, "not that far" today could have been a heck of a ways back then. If you wish, you may email me directly at BussCrave@verizon.net

BTW.......now I know where the name Alliquippa came from.....any day you learn something is a good day!

Waht I have is a Cox family buried with the McIntyres in Mckeesport. I found an obit that they came from Stewartsville and MAYBE be connected to the McIntyre House in Stewartsville. Since your looking for the name Cox and they ran a boarding house, I figured this might be more then a coincidence.

I know my great grandfather Caption RS McIntyre was born in Stewartsville in 1807

I kinda assumed the Cox family were recent arrivals...dunno why. My other ancestries were early settlers..Brink(1630), Cravener (1730) and Schreckengost (1730). The latter two were original settlers of Armstrong Co.
