Sheldon Paul Hancher, 58, of Claysville, died Friday February 23,2001 in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 25, 1942, in Claysville, a son of the late Sheldon and Dale Kassler Hancher.
Mr. Hancher was a U.S. Army veteran serving four years in Germany after basic training in Ft. Knox, KY. He was a past member of American Legion Post 639.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Hancher was formerly employed by W. 'Duke" Seaman & Son and P.J. Trucking Company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Viola Sportsmen's Club and National Rifle Association.
In January 1969, he married Sharon Riggle, sho survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Sheldon Hancher of Claysville, Scott Hancher of Valley Grove, W.V, a daughter, Paula Burnsworth of West Alexander, five grandchildren, Sheldon Hancher, Paul Tyler and Cheyenne and Rodney and Colton Burnsworth; two brothers, Terry Hancher of Uniontown and Harry Kassler of Scenery Hill and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, Feburary 27, with Jerry McCammon officiating. Interment followed in Fairmont Cemetery.
