Hi Bonnie
The LDS site lists a David HILLIS s/o John and Sarah CUMMINS. He was born 12 Dec 1840 in Attica, Ohio and died 18 Sept 1928 in Perkins twp, Erie Co, Ohio. He is buried in Portland, Michigan. He was a widow at the time of his death; wife's name not listed. He died in the State Soldiers Home in Erie Co. Ohio. Death certificate did note that both of his parents were from Pennsylvania. His occupation was listed as a farmer. With this location at time of death and death date, you should be able to locate this family in the census records.
Copy of Death certificate can be found at:
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?...The site also lists a Martin Andrew HILLIS as a son of a Joseph F. HILLIS and Catherine TRUIK. He was born 2 Mar 1865 Seneca Co., OH and died 2 Feb 1942 Norwich, Huron Co., OH. He was single at the time of his death. Death certificate is signed by a Blanche BEEBE (looks like).
