Longtime Hazel-Atlas employee bowled in Alpine league
Virginia G. "Gin" Piszczek, 77, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, in her home, after being in declining health for two years.
She was born November 4, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of Anthony (Tony) and Saveria Fragale Gallo.
Mrs. Piszczek was a 1944 graduate of Trinity High School and had worked more than 21 years at Hazel-Atlas Glass Plant 2.
She was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Washington, and its Ladies Aid Society, as well as Victoria Lodge 76. She had once played in Women's Dartball League and bowled for more than 25 years in Alpine Women's League.
On April 23, 1957, she married Frank Michael Piszczek, who died May 7, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Debra Jean Waters, wife of Ronny, of Burgettstown; three brothers, Sam and James Gallo, both of Washington, and William Gallo of Danville, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Ronny Jr. and Romney Waters.
Deceased are four brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and Louis Gallo; and five sisters, Mary McCloskey, Rose Clark, Margaret Barlow, Julia Gallo and Gretta Ungvari.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 6, with the Rev. Susan VanDeKappelle officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Additional information and guest book are online at
