I would love to get pictures of a couple of my ancestors headstones. I unfortunately am in California and am unable to get back to PA. I would be very greatful for pictures of my 4th great grandfather William Woolverton Sharp and his wife Margaret Jane both buried in Amity Presbyterian Cemetery, Amwell Twp, Washington, Pennsylvania. Also Zachariah D Sharp, my 5th greatgrandfather is buried in the same cemetery.
Thank you if you are able to do this. If not, thank you anyway.

Jennifer - do you go to the Courthouse too? I need information from a 1908 death record for a very young child - Bernhard Leslie DUNSTON died March 13 (possibly March 3), 1908. I'm desperate for any information on his father, Joseph A. DUNSTON.

If you can't do this, please advise who I should write to to get the record. Thanks for your generous offer. Lyde

I can go to the courthouse, but I am a little backed up. I could probably go next week sometime. I work 8-4:30 and I can go on my lunch hour, but of course I am limited in time then. My next day off during the week that isn't a holiday won't be until the second week of May. Let me see if I can get it next week.

Thank you first. I am looking for information on Matthew Gray born 1747 Lancaster County, Pa., find him in Morgan township on the 1786 tax list, prior to his removing to Ky.
I know there is another Matthew Gray in the area, I believe they are cousins, also born Lancaster Co., 1752. I know my Matthew has a brother, Archibald Gray, living in the same town in 1786. Any information appreciated.

I have a challenge for you if you're interested in doing it. My mother was recently told (at 62 years of age) that her real father was not who she thought he was, but a product of an affair before my grandparents were ever married. Now all we know is that this man was Italian, visiting another Italian family in the area of Findley St and Baird Ave, but in a house off road. If there's anyway you could for Italian family names in that area in the 1940 census, I would be ever so greatful. I am also looking for the location of my grandmother, Wilma Miller, at that time frame also. thank you so much.

I'm afraid not. That's why I had asked for all the names in the area. At least that way I could slowly narrow them down. All we know is that they would have lived in the area of where Baird Ave and Findley St intersect. Unfortunately, that's all we have to go on. Thanks again.

I have been searching for information on Mary McFarland McCollough (or McCullough). Form what I have she was born abt 1772 in Ireland and died abt 1821 in Washington TWP, Greene Co, PA. She married Canada McCollough May 1792 in Greene Co and had quite possibly many children in Greene Co.

But in researching I have come up with nothing on her or who her parents were which I am assuming she emigrated with when she was young if she was even born in Ireland. One reference I found says she was born in Washington Co. They also reference the 1810 census. I also seen a reference on the message board about a book called McFarland History of Washington Co PA. But no one seems to have any real information on her.

I would like to find out a little more about her other than being the wife of Canada. If I could find out who her parents are and if she was really born in Ireland or not I might get through that brick wall.

Thanks,
Bethany

My Grandmother was born in 1898, her older brother in 1890. When applying for her Social Security Card, she had put down that both her parents were 30 years old when she was born. Also, that she was born in Burgettstown, PA. Ben White remarried also, and had a son by the name of Sherman, from that marriage. I hope this will help somewhat. Thank you.

Washington County has 67 townships and none of them are district 227. There is a 27 and a 127. I checked both of them and didn't find one O'Neil. Are you positive it is Washington Co? Could you find out what township?

I checked many different sources for information about Ben and Emma and was unsuccessful. However, there are many, many Whites in the different record books in the Hanover Twp., Burgettstown area. I am sure there must be some connections. There is a Benjamin White who is listed as one of the early settlers in Pike Run Twp, Wash. Co. He is on the 1776-80 petition for a new state list and he is on the 1800 county census of taxables. He is listed as a singing master. Your Ben may be in his line and may have been named after him. On August 6, I will make a trip to the courthouse and see if I can find anything there. I think you should also check for Churches in that area that may have records. You may find info through the SS Death Index also. Contact me through my e-mail and I can give you three adresses of people I found in the file box who are also searching for White family info similar to yours.

I did not find any info in regard to Mary McFarland McCollough. However, there are only a couple Green Co. reference books at the Washington Co. library I research at. There are McFarlands and McColloughs and McCulloughs in the Washington Co. area. I even saw Mary McCullough listed, but none tied to Canada McCullough. None of the names seemed to be connected to Canada. Maybe check through a library in Green Co., they might have volunteers that will check for you there. I will go to the courthouse August 6 and I will let you know if I find anything there. I did not see the McFarland History of Washington Co., but someone may have had it out.
