Brown Hill School near Chandlers Valley, PA was located near corner of Brown Hill Road & Fiddler Hill Road. Grades 1 – 8 were taught in one room.
My great grandfather, Charles John Samuelson, donated land for the school. My grandmother, Ruby M Samuelson Sword (1882-1961), & her siblings, cousins, & neighbors went to the school.
My Mom, Mariam Sword Jenkins (1923-living) grew up across Fiddler Hill Road from it in the Samuelson family homestead. She remembers school reunions there. Eventually someone bought the school building & it was torn down & used to build a cabin on the Allegany River near Tidioute.
My Mom & her siblings went to the Chandlers Valley Elementary School & Sugar Grove High School.
I have a photo of it if you'd like it emailed.
This site has pupil info from 1915 & 1916. Your father is on it.
