I would like to correspond with anyone who may be researching the SNAPP family. Henry SNAPP was a farmer who lived about a half a mile north of Sheffield Station, where he remained until his death. His son, Melchi (b. 8 Nov. 1803; d. 12 Oct. 1882) had charge of the farm in later years. The family settled in Sheffield Twp. in 1832. Melchi married Fannie SMITH and had the following children: John, Willaim, Phebe, Ida, Enos, Warren, Charles, Melchi Jr., Laura Janet and Fauntley. Melchi helped build the first school in Sheffield Twp. in 1835 and was active in the organization and support of the Sheffield Methodist Episcopal church.
