My source for the names and dates of Robert Richart's children, including his son Joseph Richart born in 1785, is a Bible kept by Jane Staddon Richart (Joseph's wife). This Bible was passed down from Jane probably through her son Jared and thence to his daughter Phoebe Angelina Richart Moon, thence to Mamie Moon Else who gave it to her nephew George Moon who had it in his possession in 1990. George sent me the Bible information. George Moon was my husband's grandmother's brother. He has since passed.

In her Bible, Jane Staddon Richart listed her husband's siblings and half-siblings (Robert's children by Catherine Smith and Elizabeth Robbins). She then listed her marriage to Robert's son Joseph (1814) and then listed all of their children, including their son Jared who was born in 1815. Jane died on March 21, 1872 in Columbia Co., PA, at age 80y 8m 21d. She is buried in McHenry Cem in Orangeville, Columbia Co., PA.

Joseph Richart and Jane Staddon had 6 children -- 2 sons and 4 daughters. My husband descends from their son Jared.

1. Jared Richart b. 1815; married Hannah Wright in 1842. Per census records they moved back and forth between Columbia Co. and Lycoming Co., PA. Jared Richart died June 22, 1903 in Williamsport, Lyc Co. He is buried in Montoursville Cem.

2. George Richart b. 1818. 1840 lived with parents in Hepburn, Lyc Co. 1844 married Hannah Irwin. 1850 and 1860 lived in Clinton, Lyc. Co. At some time after 1860 he left PA and moved to Illinois. My last record for him is the 1880 census of West Point, Stephenson Co., IL. George, his wife, and 3 grown children live with them.

3. Rebecca b. 1821. Never married. Lived with parents per census records. Died in 1863 age 42y 6m 17d. Buried in McHenry Cem, Orangeville, Columbia Co., PA.

4. Sarah b. 1824. Around 1844 she married George W. Hoffman. In 1850 Sarah Richart Hoffman is living with her parents with 2 daughters. Her husband is not in the household. I don't know what happened to him.

5. Angelia (also spelled Aganila) b. 1827. I have nothing further on her. All I have is her birthdate in the Bible.

6. Susannah b. 1831. 1850 census she is single and living with her parents. The 1850 census is my last record for Susannah Richart.
