George T. Dodson
George Thomas Dodson, 89, of 4305 Figsboro Road, in Martinsville, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born Jan. 8, 1914, in Franklin County to the late Thomas Dameron Dodson and the late Alzie Adams Dodson. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired lumber yard foreman with 32 years of service with Lester Brothers and National Homes. He was a member of JROUAM Jr. Order of the United American Mechanics and of VFW Ford Post No. 4637 of Martinsville. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Nunn Dodson of the home; a son, Herman David Dodson of Eden, N.C.; two sisters, Lottie D. Kirks of Figsboro and Doris D. Mason of Martinsville; a brother, Herbert Dodson; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
