The Manbecks formerly of the Alsace_Lorraine region at the W Germany-France border, father and son departed via Ship Polly out of Amsterdam 1774. Repetition in first names was common, Christine, Maria, John.. There is a Manbeck cemetery in PA which I've yet to see and a Mennonite Church. Jacob Manbeck and a friend Shambaugh scouted the New Rumley area, bought property in 1815 and moved their families to the New Rumley following harvest 1816. Jacob and his wife Eva Brown Manbeck were pillars in the Evangelical United Brethren Church Congregation and were among those who hosted the circuit-riding Bishop Albright. There remains a remnant of this line in the Jewett/Scio/New Rumley area to this day.
