Greetings Paula,
I'm sure you either found the information or given up, but just in case I wanted to give you some background on the German Valley Moravian Church.
The Moravians first started conducting services in the German Valley area in 1834, in a town four miles north called Newfoundland. The residents of German Valley held Sunday School in their school house with the pastor of the Newfoundland Moravian Church coming down from time to time to conduct worship services. Sometime between 1897-1907, they built their own church. It was located on the western side of the present PA Route 447, approximately 3.6 miles south of the Newfoundland Church. The church was dedicated July 28, 1907.
The German Valley Congregation worshipped there until the church was closed at the end of 1956. The church was sold in 1962 to an individual who promptly dismantled it.
It is possible that the records for both Newfoundland and German Valley would be combined, since its likely that one pastor served both congregations for most of the time. All of the records should be in the Moravian Church Archives in Bethlehem [www.moravianchurcharchives.org].
Good luck!
