Kathy,

I descend from Timothy Rake through his son Frederick S. Rake. Frederick is my gr grandfather. I have recieved the following information from other Rake family researchers. This is a brief outline report. If you like, I can e-mail more detailed info to you directly.

Please keep in mind that I have not yet had the opportunity to view sources or search for supporting evidence.

Additions and corrections are always welcome.

Thanks,
Chris

Where in New Jersey was George Rake born? Do you have more info about George-parents, siblings, ancestors, etc? How are you related to Timothy? How far back do you have this Rake line traced?
Thanks
Kathy

Yes, thank you. This information is very helpful. I currently show Timothy Rake's parents as George Rake b. 20 April 1798 in NJ and Mary Shaffer.

It's always great to meet another cousin!

Thanks again,
Chris

In doing research in Pike County, Penn., on the Blackmore/Blackmer family, I found the following information copied from headstones in a cemetery in Paupack:

Amanda Rake Blackmore, wife of J. R. Blackmore,

B. 13 Oct 1865 -- D. 9 Nov 1918

Joseph R. Blackmore - B. 10 Oct 1852 - no death date

If this woman is related to your Rake family, it is likely you would be able to obtain a death certificate, which might provide you with the names of her parents.

I hope this will be of some help to you.

Hello,

If you will email me at gma@hughes.net, I may be able to help you. I've worked on the Rake family history for about 30 years.
