Good day,

I came across a stumbling block researching my Titman line. I think I have it just about figured out but I need a link or some assistance.

According to the "Commemorative Biographical Record of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Issue 546" in March 1859 John T. Titman of Lehman Twp. married Elmira Counterman of Monroe County. Elmira was born on May 23, 1837 to Jacob and Eve (Cortright) Counterman.

Elmira is a huge obstacle in my hunting. The 1850 Census is the first mention of her name "Almira Contraman", along with her brother Phillip, living with John Swartwood. Phillip remains in the house but Almira is gone in the 1860 Census, of course.

Their parents were Jacob Counterman, d. 1842, and Eve Cortright (1807 - 1894) but I have no further information.

Does anyone know of a Swartwood-Counterman-Cortright connection in their research?

Any information you have would be TRULY, TRULY, TRULY helpful!!

Thanks and have a great day!!

Thank you kindly.
