Looking for information on my GGrandfather and family of Martin Joseph Corrigan (Carrigan) born 31 May 1875 in Antigonish Nova Scotia. I find a Martin J. Carrigan in the 1891 Canadian census. I believe this is the same person. He is listed with family at age 16 in 1891 Canadian census in Pictou, Westville Nova Scotia. Antigonish Nova Scotia is listed on his birth, immigration and draft registration records as place of birth. Westville is listed on his immigration record as his place of last residence before entering the U.S. The 1891 census includes:

Father – John – born abt 1844 in Ireland
Mother – Catherine – born abt 1853 in Nova Scotia
Martin J – born 1875 in Nova Scotia
John – born abt 1873 in Nova Scotia
Mary – born abt 1883 in Nova Scotia
Thomas - born abt 1884 in Nova Scotia
Richard – born abt 1886 in Nova Scotia
Leo – born abt 1888 in Nova Scotia
Presilla – born abt 1890 in Nova Scotia

In Oct 1895 Martin Joseph Carrigan married Mary Ellen Reilly in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Not long after that the spelling of the last name changed to Corrigan because of a reported dispute with Martin’s brother John. There is some variation in ages and names used in the 1900 U.S. census. In the 1900 U.S. census Martin is in Philadelphia, PA with wife Mary Ellen, daughter Lillian at age 1 and all his siblings. John is 23, Mary is 19, siblings - Thomas is 16, George (most likely Richard) is 13, Presilla (SP?) is 11, Leo is 9, William is 7 and Eugene is 5. William and Eugene would have been born after the 1891 Canadian census. All the surnames were spelled Corrigan and were listed as being born in Canada and immigration to U.S. was recorded as 1898. Martin entered U.S. in 1891 according to 1900 census record.

My Grandmother Mary Ellen Corrigan was born 28 Jun 1906 in Cambridge, MA. Cambridge, MA birth records confirm date, place and names of parents. I am looking for the connection to the roots in Canada and Ireland and finding any current related families. Any and all information on these families is appreciated.
