John Yorke AtLee, 7th and youngest child of Samuel Yorke AtLee, b. 22 Mar 1853 in Washington D.C. John married Ann Jeannette Klock 04 Oct 1883. Children: Mary E. b. Apr 1884, Wayne Carlyle b. 25 Dec 1889 Washington D.C., d. 10 Sep 1957 Whitmore Lake, MI. John Yorke was known as the Whistler when he became popular after singing and whistling for the recording companies when they first started.

Anna J. AtLee 56 years old is listed in the 1920 Census for D.C. as head of household. Couldn't tell if it says widow or married. She is living with her son W.C. who is 26 and single. John's son, Wayne, is my husband's grandfather. Family stories suggest that Wayne grew up without his father in the picture which is supported by the 1920 Census.

Found Jno Yorke AtLee, age 77, in 1930 census for Philadelphia City as an employee (night clerk) for the Methodist Episcopal Hospital. So, he would have died after 4 Apr 1930.

I would like to find out when & where John died and where he is buried.
