I've seen your name on the message boards and for some reason Devlin sounds familiar. Unfortunately my information on McCaffrey stops at Edward McCaffrey who was living with my great grand mother and her second husband Hugh Corrigan about 1910. My Aunt says yes the McCaffrey's were related but untill I receive my great grand mother's death certificate I won't have proof and even than it's questionable since she married John McGlynn before her marriage to Hugh Corrigan. I have someone who is checking the marriage index for Philly so I can be more accurate on Bridget's marriage to Hugh. Than I'll have to check church records by mail for her first marriage to John V McGlynn around 1879.
Edward McCaffrey could be Bridget's father he was 20+ years older than Bridget. Both came from Northern Ireland and both came to the US around 1871. They lived in St. Anne's Parish Port Richmond.
I am just now getting into my mother's family with these names and so far it hasn't been very successful.
This is the time when you wish you could remember everything you overheard as a child.
