Hi, Just wondering if your Joseph Hillman had a sister named Sarah/Sallie/Mary. My Bensil/Pencel family also lived in Lower Smithfield in the 1760's and then moved to Wyoming Valley as early as 1772. A Johannes Pensal paid taxes in Lower Smithfield in 1761 and his son Henry Bensil joined the Lower Smithfield militia in 1763.

I believe Henry And Sallie were already married before their 1772 arrival in Wyoming Valley. I've seen her listed as Sarah M. ____, Sallie and/or Mary ___. They were a German family who sided with the Connecticut faction when they moved to first the Hanover district and then across the river to possibly the Forty Fort area.
