I have some information on the Thoren family. The name was actually adopted by Johan "Oscar" Pehrson (Pehrsson) and his brother Jonas Pehrson (Pehrsson) of Sweden. The family kep that name after coming to America.

I am a descendant of Johan "Oscar" Thoren through his daughter Alma Maria "Marie" Thoren of Port Allegany, PA. Her husband was Van Alden Shelley. They had 4 children. Their second child, Mary Geneva Shelley is my grandmother. She is the descendant which has spend some time compiling information of benefit.

I have one generation back into Sweden and much information in a book written by a relative from Port Allegany. I have just come across this information and haven't been able to go through it all, but I do have some names and dates that might be of interest to you.

I am planning on scanning and converting the book to pdf when time permits. I have an account on geni.com as well, which contains basic information.

I am looking for more details on this family as well. Especially going further back into Sweden.
