Death of Mrs. Charles Perks
Following an illness of a year, Mrs. Charles Perks, one of West Pittston's most beloved women died Wednesday evening at the family home, 227 Washington street.
Mrs. Perks (Lillian) was born in this city and had resided in this community throughout her entire life. She had a large circle of friends and she was loved for her consistent Christian character and pleasing personality. She was born September 10, 1885, and was married in 1907 to Mr. Perks (Charles), well known employee of the Lehigh Valley Railroad at Coxton. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Pittston, where she retained her membership after her removal to the West Side.
Surviving Mrs. Perks are her husband; five children: Stanley, Dorothy, Howard, Charles Jr., and Grace; also her Mother, Mrs. Harriet Golding, of West Pittston; two sisters and one brother: Mrs. David (Hattie) Robertson, of Sebastopol; William Golding, of Pittston; and Miss Ethel Golding, of West Pittston.
The funeral will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. S. Ezra Neikirk officiating. Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery.
