DEATH CLAIMS AGED RESIDENT, MRS. MARY BROWN
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown, aged 95, of the
Ellwood City New
Castle road, died at her residence at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Prior to her death, she was the oldest living member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian church.
She was born in Wayne township July 22, 1859, a daughter of
the late George and Margaret
Newton Latimer, and she resided in this area all of her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jeff
Harper of
Florida and Mrs. William T. Houk of R. D. 1 New
Castle, a brother,
Emmett Latimer of Pittsburgh; 18 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, in 1928, and six children, three sons and three daughters.
Friends may call at the J. I. Porter Funeral Home, Fifth street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
with the Rev. Ralph I. McConell, pastor of the Slippery Rock church, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
