Prof. Frank Pokorny, 76, musician and band master, died yesterday at home, 286 N. Main St. Formerly in Austrian army, decorated for bravery in action three times.

Prof. Frank Pokorny, 76, musician, 286 N. Main st, Wilkes-Barre, yesterday. Son Charles Pokorny is leader of Alexander's Band, Wilkes-Barre. Also surviving daughters: Mrs. John Zarbosky, Scranton; Mrs. R. L. Wilcox and Mrs. Harry Kinsella, Wilkes-Barre; sons Frank Pokorny, William A. Pokorny. Born in village of Konojed, Bohemia, Austria Starting at age 18, served 18 years in Austrian army. In 1884 while still in Europe, he organized a band for an engagement in . Philadelphia, and at the end of the season was living in Wilkes-Barre. His family later joined him there. [condensed, Harry Kinsella was a distributor for Stutz cars]
