This sounds very promising! My uncles in law were at St. Nicholas from around 1923 to sometime after the 1930 census, so whatever information you are able to dig up would probably apply to them as well. I am particularly interested in whether any of the old records still exist. My mother in law couldn't remember her grandmother's name, so we haven't been able to trace her family any farther than her father. If there were names of relatives in the records, that could be a real help. But it would also be very interesting to find out what life was like there. My husband's cousins don't have much information on this part of their father's life, so I think they will be as interested as I am in finding out more.
