ANOTHER VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR FROM THIS COUNTY PASSES AWAY
Davis Hoch Dies at Home in Oliver Township at Age of 85 Years
FUNERAL SERVICES NEXT FRIDAY
David W. Hoch, one of the few remaining veterans of the Civil War in this county, died at his home in Oliver township this morning at the age of 85 years of a complication of diseases.
The deceased was born in Perry township and had lived on the farm where he died in Oliver township the past 60 years. He was a successful farmer and one of the most highly respected men in the county. When a young man he went with the Pennsylvania Volunteers and fought through the Civil War. He was married following the war and settled on the farm where he died. He was a member of St. John's Reformed church, a good, straightforward honest business man whose death is a great shock to his many friends in Jefferson county.
He is survived by the following daughters and sons: Mrs. Ellen Enterline, of Dayton; William D. Hoch, at home on the farm; Mrs. Andrew Lingenfelter, of Olean, N. Y.; Mrs. Raymond Campbell, of Brookville, and Mrs. August Miller, of Big Run.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in St. John's Reformed church and interment made in St. John's cemetery.
