Man Shot at Graff Mines
Liquor Responsible for Near Tragedy at Blairsville Working.
BLAIRSVILLE Aug 31 - In an encampment at the Maher and Graff mines near here recently a difficulty arose and one man was shot in the leg. It is stated that a man had furnished another with a quart of the liquid that cheers and inebriates and that a $20 bill figured in the difficulty. The shooter was arrested and taken to Greensburg.
James Kirkland, aged 75 years, is dead. He leaves his widow and a number of sons and daughters. His family was one of the early settlers of Derry township, Westmoreland county.
Per my research I have his wife as Emma Dodson
