I am looking for information on my gg-grandfather, John C. Spencer who I believe lived in and around Jefferson and Indiana County, PA. He was born in 1837 and died in 1889. He served in the Civil War in 76th PA Inf. Co. 1. He was married to Susan Jane States and they are both buried in Pierce Cemetary in Canoe Township. I do not know who John C.'s parents were and that is my dilemma. I have many possibilities but no definates. I do know that Zachariah Spencer who was married to Margeret Biddle had a son listed as John. This may be him. If anybody has any information, please contact me.
