The only information I have on my gr. grandmother comes from her newspaper obituary and her second marriage record.

Her name: REBECCA JANE BUTTS, b. Dec. 23, 1837 in Fulton Co., PA, d. Sept. 14, 1915 in Lanark, Carroll Co., IL. She was first married to WILLIAM KRIDLER about 1853. They had two children, ZACHARIAH and a daughter. The daughter died in infancy.

She married second, ELLSWORTH H. HERINGTON, June 13, 1873 in Lanark, IL. She was his third wife. They had three daughters: ARBELIA b. May 7, 1875, EDITH LYLE b. Oct 11 1876 in Lanark, IL, m. Feb. 15, 1899 EMERY WILLIS MUMMERT in Lanark, IL, d. Dec 9, 1956 in White Swan or Yakima, WA, and CORDELIA FLORENCE b. Oct 26 1878 in Lanark, never married, d. ca 1940-1950 in Carroll Co., IL.

The article stated that she came to Illinois with her sister, ELIZABETH, about 1860 and resided in Lanark since 1865. It also stated that she was survived by four sisters, five brothers, and eight grandchildren. Since my grandmother, EDITH, had five children and CORDELIA never married, ZACHARIAH, who was then residing in Iowa, must have had three children.
