I have checked 1850 census of Metal Twp, Franklin Co., PA for many Umbrells who are relatives of mine. Two sisters married Nusbaums. I have naturalization papers of George Umbrell, my great great grandfather,who came to US in 1821. I would like to be able to find where he was born in Bavaria, Germany.
My great grandfather, Mathew Umbrell, died in the 1860's. His wife was in the 1870 census but I can't find her in 1880 census. She died in 1898 in Ketterkenny Twp. Would there be an obituary?
