William Marshall Gorman, aged 81 years, passed away at the home of his grandson, Marshall Tipton, in Erie at 8:10 a.m., Friday. He was born at Cobham, Pa., and was the son of Ziba A. and Emily B. Dale Gorman, who were residents of East Hickory for many years. In 1876 he was united in marriage to Clara McKown, of East Hickory, who died in 1884. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Tipton of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Hadley of Trenton, N.J.; three brothers, Marvin, Eugene and Carl of Endeavor. Services in his memory were held in the M.E. Church at East Hickory, with Rev. William E. Thomas of the Presbyterian Church of Endeavor in charge. The male quartette sang two beautiful hymns, “Beautiful Isle” and “In the Garden.” Relatives present were Eugene and Marvin Gorman, Mrs. Ethel Alcock, and son Marvin Alcock, M/M. Carl Gorman, Mrs. Blanche Woodin, Raymond Gorman, Claire Tipton and daughter, Ruby Tipton of Endeavor; M/M. George McKown of Tidioute; Walter McKown of Warren; Mrs. Joseph Schwab of East Hickory; John McCoy, Shirley McCoy of Torpedo; Mrs. Blanche Tipton, Kenneth Tipton and Mrs. Seabold of Philadelphia; M/M. Marshall Tipton and daughter Earline of Erie. The pall bearers were Claire and Marshall Tipton, Shade Tipton, Raymond Gorman, Marvin Alcock and Frank Black.
